Reverie

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

  1. Who we are

Reverie is made by BetterFly AI LTD, a company registered in Israel, 42 Moriya St., Ramat Gan 5238171, Israel (“we”, “us”). We decide how your personal data is used in Reverie, which makes us its controller.

For any question about your privacy, or to use any of the rights below, write to us through the Support page (topic “Privacy”) or at zoharmosseri@gmail.com. A person reads every message.

  2. What we keep

Your account. Your email address and your password. The password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored only in scrambled (hashed) form: nobody at Reverie can read it. If you continue with Apple or Google instead, there is no password: we receive from them an account identifier, your email address (with Apple, it can be a private relay address) and, if you choose to share it, your first name.

Your first name. You give it when you begin, so Reverie can speak to you by name. You can change it in your profile.

Your dreams. The words you write or dictate, and what Reverie writes about them: a title, the reading, symbols, feelings, whether a dream was lucid or recurring, the image chosen for it, and a numeric summary of the dream (an “embedding”) that lets Reverie notice when dreams are related.

Your conversations with Reverie. What you write or dictate to her in the chat, and her replies. Reverie answers in writing only.

Reverie’s memory of you. The symbols, recurring patterns and changes in feeling that she draws from your dreams over time, so that later readings can remember earlier ones.

What you choose to tell us about yourself. Optional: your gender, age range, relationship status and whether you have children. Each can be left blank, and Reverie works without them.

Your settings and your consent. Your language, your appearance (dawn, night or automatic), and the version and date of these terms and of the AI consent you accepted.

Messages you send us. When you write to us through the Support page, or report a reading or one of Reverie’s replies: your email address, your message, its topic and your language, linked to your account if you were signed in, and for a report, which dream or message it is about.

Technical data. Like any online service, our servers see your IP address and basic details of each request in order to answer it and block abuse, and our hosting providers keep short-lived logs. If something breaks on our servers, an error report may be sent to an error-monitoring provider (Sentry), if enabled (see section 6).

  3. Your voice and the microphone

Reverie asks for the microphone only the first time you tap a microphone button, never when you install or open the app, and listens only while you are recording.

Dictation is transient. When you dictate a dream or a message, the recording is sent to our server and on to Google’s Gemini service to be turned into text. Reverie keeps only the text. We never store your recording.

You can refuse or withdraw microphone access at any time in your phone’s settings. Reverie keeps working when you write.

  4. What we never do

    • We never sell your data, and never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
    • There are no ads in Reverie, no advertising identifiers and no tracking across other apps or websites.
    • Reverie contains no analytics or advertising software.
    • We do not use your dreams to train AI models.
    • We never ask for your location, your contacts, your photos or your health data.
  5. Why we use it, and on what basis

    • To give you Reverie (your account, your journal, the readings, the chat, your memory and insights). This is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
    • To have your dreams read by artificial intelligence. Reverie cannot read a dream without sending it to the AI providers named in section 6. Dreams can touch on your health, your intimate life or your beliefs, so we ask for your explicit consent to this processing. You can withdraw it at any time in your profile, under “Your dreams and your privacy”: Reverie then no longer reads your new dreams or answers you, and the dreams you already have stay yours to browse.
    • To fit the readings to your life, using the optional details you chose to give. Based on your consent; clear them at any time in your profile.
    • To answer you when you write to us.
    • To keep Reverie safe and working: preventing abuse, securing accounts and fixing errors. Based on our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
    • To meet legal obligations, when the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
  6. Who helps us run Reverie

A few service providers process data on our behalf, only to provide their service to us and under data processing terms that oblige them to protect it.

    • Google (Gemini API) reads your dreams, writes Reverie’s replies, transcribes dictation and builds the summaries that link related dreams. It receives the text of your dreams and conversations, your first name and optional details, and your dictated audio. Under its terms for the paid Gemini API, Google does not use this content to improve its products and keeps it only for a limited time to detect abuse.
    • Supabase hosts our database, sign-in and file storage, in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
    • Railway hosts the Reverie server, in the European Union (Amsterdam, the Netherlands).
    • Vercel hosts the Reverie website and its pages, through a worldwide network of servers.
    • An error-monitoring provider (Sentry), if enabled, receives error reports from our servers when something breaks. They are configured to leave out personal identifiers such as your IP address and your account.
    • Google Fonts serves the typefaces Reverie displays, and therefore sees your IP address, as for any web request.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to protect it. We will update this list before adding any new provider that receives your personal data.

  7. International transfers

Your journal is stored in the European Union. BetterFly AI is based in Israel, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection. Some providers above, including Google, Vercel and Sentry, may process data in the United States or other countries.

When your data leaves the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Israel, we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it.

  8. How long we keep it

    • Your account, dreams, conversations, memory and details: for as long as you keep your account.
    • When you delete a dream, it is hidden at once: it leaves your journal, together with its conversation and its place in Reverie’s memory. Its text is erased for good when you delete your account.
    • When you delete your account, we erase everything that is yours at once: your dreams (including those you deleted before), conversations, Reverie’s memory of you, your details, any files stored for you and your sign-in. The last copies leave our backups within 30 days.
    • Dictated recordings: never stored by us (see section 3).
    • Messages you send us: as long as needed to help you and handle any follow-up. Messages linked to your account are erased with it.
    • Server logs and error reports: kept for a short period by our hosting and error-monitoring providers, under their standard settings, unless we need them longer to investigate abuse.
  9. Your choices and your rights

In the app, at any time, you can delete any dream from its page, change or clear your first name and optional details, withdraw your consent to the AI processing (in your profile, under “Your dreams and your privacy”), and turn off the microphone in your phone’s settings.

To delete your account, open your profile, then “Your dreams and your privacy”, then “Delete my account”. This erases everything listed in section 8 and cannot be undone. Without the app, you can ask us through the Support page with the email address of your account.

Your rights. Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to erase it, or to receive it in a portable format: write to us through the Support page and we send you a copy. If the GDPR applies to you (in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), you can also restrict or object to some uses of your data and withdraw a consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Under Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law, you can review the information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it.

Write to us through the Support page or at zoharmosseri@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days and may first confirm that the request comes from you. You may also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL; in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority). We would be grateful to hear from you first.

  10. Children

Reverie is for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, tell us through the Support page and we will delete it.

  11. Security

Your data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is encrypted at rest. Each account can read only its own dreams: this is enforced by the database itself, and every change goes through our server, which checks who is asking. Within BetterFly AI, access is limited to the people who need it to run Reverie.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

  12. On your device

Reverie stores a few things on your device: your sign-in session, and your language and display choices, so it opens the way you left it. Before your account exists, your first name and first dream wait on your device only. On the website these are small first-party cookies and your browser’s local storage. They are needed for Reverie to work and are never used for tracking.

  13. Readings are not advice

Reverie’s readings are reflections to think with, never a diagnosis. Reverie is not a medical device and gives no medical, psychological or therapeutic advice. The Terms of Service say more, including where to find help.

  14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect, why, or who receives it, we will tell you in the app before it applies and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again.
